Master Ali
Master Ali Has been studying the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over a decade and a half, and Muay Thai for a decade. He started his career in 1997 at the age of 19. He is an authority on self defense as well as Martial Arts competition. He has not only competed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and MMA, but has also created countless championship level students. Master Ali is the highest ranking American student of Leandro Vieira of the legendary Vieira Brothers. He is also the highest ranking American and first American Black Belt of the world famous Team Checkmat.
Master Ali’s true passion is teaching, creating Champions, and enhancing the lives of others through Martial Arts. His skills as an instructor are internationally sought after. He is most famously known for creating one of the top Kids Competition Teams on the planet. He has created many World and Pan American Champions, and is the head coach of A-Team, which is the 5x North American, 2x All American, 2012 Kids Pan American, and 3x World Championship Team!
A-Team Jiu-Jitsu is not about Master Ali, it is about the students, the teamwork and the family environment. He welcome students of all ages backgrounds and experience levels, who want to travel down this path beside the Team.
Coach CJ
Coach CJ Herrera is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Master Ali Saleh. A student at A-Team since 2009, he soon became obsessed with Jiu-Jitsu and the martial arts lifestyle that he quickly became the Head Coach under Master Ali. Coach CJ teaches mornings and evenings, both kids and adult classes.
Coach Angelo
Coach Angelo's Jiu-Jitsu journey started with us at the end of 2011. He first started as a student then grew very close to the heads of the team and eventually became part owner and is now the gym manager. He and his 3 kids all train, travel and compete with us. He has been winning almost every tournament he has competed as a blue belt. In December of 2017, Coach Angelo was promoted to purple belt. Coach Angelo also served in the Navy and now works in the medical field and real estate. When the guys have to stay late for tournament training Coach Angelo is always there helping to push all through it. He is at every tournament helping to coach as well as compete. Angelo is a guy we all know and love. A father, business man & martial artist.
